The trick to easing negative thoughts is to replace them with good thoughts...takes 1 minute!
When you are having a have a positive experience, even a small one such as a great cup of coffee or a quick walk in nature, take a special 30 seconds to savor the experience, and feel the joy and the pleasure of life.
Then, take the next 30 seconds to visualize your good feelings sinking deep into your heart and melting into the emotional memory bank in your head. Do this practice often, filling your memory bank with good thoughts and pleasurable memories.
When automatic negative thoughts are triggered, reach into your bank of good thoughts and feelings and focus on one of the many good thoughts that are always available to you. In this way, you replace the bad with the good, and give yourself the relief of feeling better while you retrain your brain.
It will take a few minutes and a few thoughts to ease the negativity, but try it, you’ll like it! Please let me know how this works for you.
Overwhelming and negative experiences create a buildup of anger and resentment, which we often turn against others, or ourselves. I learned, and regularly use the “Hawaiian Code of Forgiveness”... takes 3 minutes!
Visualize the person you feel angry towards, it can be yourself.
Outloud say: the Hawaiian word “Ho’oponopono”, followed by “I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you”
Repeat this 6 times, when you recognize anger and resentment arising in yourself.
Releasing energy and a changing the focus to love are powerful tools for healing, plus “Ho’oponopono” is fun to say. Please let me know if you like this practice!
